      A multi-media lecture concert and exhibition that presents Gustav Mahler’s (1860-1911) rarely performed piano version of “Das Lied von der Erde” for Mezzo-soprano, Tenor, and Piano (first published in 1989).

      Das Lied von der Erde (The Song of the Earth), is Mahler’s rarely performed version for Mezzo-soprano, Tenor, and Piano.

      Come along to hear Mahler’s beautiful music; learn about his approach to composition and the techniques he used; understand the traumas and hardships Mahler endured while writing this, his most personal piece; and how the Chinese poems helped soothe this troubled composer’s soul. All in the beautiful Audi Auditorium/Concord City Auditorium. Concert begins at 7:30 pm
