Revolution of the Heart: The Dorothy Day Story

Journalist, pacifist, devout Catholic and radical activist, champion of Catholic social teaching and service to the poor, Dorothy Day was one of the most extraordinary women of the Twentieth Century. She was co-founder and the primary public voice for the Catholic Worker movement.

What began during the Great Depression as a broadsheet newspaper dedicated to the social teachings of the Catholic Church quickly grew into a network of Hospitality Houses, offering food, clothing, and shelter to the poor, the needy, and the outcast.

Day’s life and writings still stand as a challenge to “create a world in which it is easier to be good.” Pope Francis named Dorothy Day, alongside Martin Luther King, Jr., and Abraham Lincoln, as a notably great American.
