      National Waterways Museum Gloucester Marks The Dunkirk Anniversary On An Original Little Ship

      To mark the 80th anniversary of the Dunkirk evacuation the National Waterways Museum, Gloucester (run by the Canal & River Trust) will be bringing the story to life in an atmospheric theatre event set on board on its own Little Ship, Queen Boadicea II. Passengers will be joined by Gloucestershire's Spaniel in the Works theatre company who will share the story of this historic event through the stories of the crew and soldiers who could have been on the boat. As they journey along the Gloucester & Sharpness Canal the fascinating previous life of the vessel they're travelling on will be revealed. Now a trip boat, Queen Boadicea II played her part in Dunkirk, as one of the 850 Little Ships that took part in 'Operation Dynamo', an operation that rescued over 338,000 allied soldiers. Booking opens on 1 April with more information on the Museum's social media channels. Tickets for the boat trip are £10 which includes entry to the National Waterways Museum Gloucester. There will also be a special exhibition about the life of Queen Boadicea II.
