      Ghost Walk: East Hill Cemetery

      The Ghost Walk Returns to East Hill October 3-5Tours leave the Salem Museum every fifteen minutes from 6 to 8pm. East Hill Cemetery comes alive after dark just once a year! Meet "Ghosts" who represent real people, now deceased, and buried in Salem's graveyards. They can't wait to share their stories with you! You will meet… Margie Brown, a mischievous daughter Brigadier General Andrew Lewis, Salem’s Revolutionary War hero Charles Johnston, captured by Indians James Huff, Civil War jailer Underage boys caught in the pool hall  Anna Whitner, marched for a woman’s right to vote Jack Simms, stormed Omaha Beach on D-Day Ardelia Wilson, with stories from Water Street Eddie Joyce, Jr, Andrew Lewis High School star quarterback in the famous "Remember the Titans" 1971 state championship football game The Ghost Walk is a walking tour through the cemetery--fun and family-friendly, but not scary. It's a great way to learn more of our region's history, and how real people from times past have had a role in big moments in local, state, and national history! Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for students of any age, and free for children three and younger. Ticket tip! The 6:15, 6:45, 7:15, and 7:45 tours tend to be less crowded. Get your tickets now to reserve your preferred tour time. 2019 marks the Ghost Walk’s 21st year and all proceeds benefit the Salem Museum. In case of rain, the event will be held at the Salem Museum.
