      The Kingdom of Caid is proud to host The Society for Creative Anachronism's West Coast Culinary Symposium in 2020. This multi-Kingdom, 3-day event will be a chance for like-minded and enthusiastic people to get together and share their love and knowledge of pre-1600 period cooking, brewing and practices and share the tasty results. It is also a time to gather as friends, make new ones, share ideas, and teach our skills to others hoping to learn.

      Hanna Tunberg will be our guest speaker. Hanna Tunberg hails from the Kingdom of Drachenwald and is the co-author of "An Early Meal - A Viking Age Cookbook and Culinary Odyssey." She earned a master’s degree in Medieval Archaeology and uses her knowledge to work her way through thousands of years of food history. She has given lectures and workshops on Medieval cooking around Europe and is now headed to the New World.

      This action-packed event will be held April 9-11, 2021 at Camp Wrightwood in Wrightwood, CA. Participants will be comfortably lodged in heated cabins with access to several onsite kitchens and outdoor cooking areas.

      On top of our usual culinary and brewing classes, we will also be adding this year a Bardic and performance track.

      Registration information: Costs for single Cabin beds per person with meals Friday through Sunday when registering October 15th through December 31st, 2019: $105.00.  There is a discount of $5.00 for adult SCA members.

      Costs for single Cabin beds per person with meals Friday through Sunday when registering January 1st, 2020 until February 29th, 2020: $125.00.  There is a discount available of $5.00 for adult SCA members.

      Cost per person for Saturday-only, no bed/camping overnight (includes meals):  $30.00.  There is a discount available of $5.00 for SCA adult members (bringing the cost to $25.00 per person).
